Ex-campaign worker claims flashy NYC Bishop Lamor Whitehead stiffed him out of over $56K: lawsuit

Fendi-loving ex-con Bishop Lamor Whitehead stiffed a campaign worker out of more than $50,000 while making a failed run for Brooklyn borough president, court papers allege.

The headline-grabbing clergyman’s former campaign “street team manager,” Yves Andre, claims in a lawsuit that Whitehead hired him last year to recruit staffers to help the bishop make his improbable political run — but never made good on his promise to reimburse the plaintiff for the thousands of dollars he was forced to shell out to pay workers.

Andre accuses Whitehead of fraud, breach of contract and unjust enrichment in the complaint, which was filed July 29.

“He owes me money, he cannot evade it,” Andre told The Post on Tuesday. “I have the proof.

“Out of everyone who has brought claims against him, he has not mentioned me because he knows my lawsuit is valid,” Andre said.

Whitehead was served court papers in the case Monday — right before a press conference that the bishop organized outside the 69th Precinct in Brooklyn.

Whitehead drove up to the event in a white convertible Rolls Royce with an orange interior and was dripping in gold and diamond jewelry and wearing Fendi duds.

The controversial bishop called the presser to gripe about his treatment by the NYPD after he scuffled with a woman who apparently crashed his live-streamed sermon Sunday.

Whitehead was handcuffed by cops and hauled off to the precinct for questioning along with the woman. He ended up being released without charges, while she faces raps including trespassing.

The incident came after the bishop was robbed on camera during another service in July — with the masked crooks making off with more than $1 million in jewelry from him and his wife, he and cops said at the time.

Whitehead — who was previously convicted of grand larceny and identity theft — claimed Monday that he now believes even the NYPD seems to think at this point that he staged the robbery. The Police Department has said the case is ongoing.

According to Andre’s lawsuit, the bishop hired him in April 2021 to help out with his campaign and asked him to hire a team of staffers.

Andre said in the suit that Whitehead promised him $30 an hour and team members $20 hourly — but later reduced his rate to $15 and the other workers’ to “varying amounts.”

Even then, Whitehead repeatedly failed to pay any of them — claiming at one point that he was waiting to receive his “matched’ campaign funds from the city, the court documents claim.

Andre also allegedly recorded a music video for Whitehead’s campaign and didn’t get paid.

The lawsuit claims Andre has not been reimbursed for $56,684 in expenses.

Whitehead’s lawyer, Brian Ponder, told The Post on Tuesday that Andre’s lawsuit that his client “believes it to be frivolous” but would not elaborate.
