Prince Andrew rarely leaves home, watches TV all day: report

Disgraced Prince Andrew has nothing better to do than spend his days watching TV, a new report claims.

The Duke of York — who resigned from the Royal Family nearly three years ago due to his relationship with sex trafficking duo Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell — has become “a virtual recluse” who only leaves his mega-mansion to ride a horse or walk the dogs, sources told The Telegraph.

“These days, he barely goes out at all. He rarely goes out socially in the evening — where would he go? The only times he used to go out were to visit the queen at the castle and now he can’t even do that,” a friend of the former royal told the outlet.

Prince Andrew was stripped of his royal titles and duties in May 2020 after defending his relationship with Epstein and himself against sexual assault allegations in a “Newsnight” interview. His daughter Princess Beatrice reportedly asked him not to do the interview.

He later paid Virginia Roberts Giuffre, who claims she was Epstein and Maxwell’s victim at 17 years old, a $12 million settlement after she sued him for sexual abuse.

The prince was not even allowed to his military uniform to his mother’s funeral.

The punishments have forced the shamed royal to reflect on his lifetime of debauchery, sources said.

“All he wants to do is make things as smooth as possible in stark contrast to days gone by,” the friend said.

“Acting as that supportive brother figure, absolutely in the background but for the benefit of the monarchy as a whole, is a future template for how he feels he can make some sort of contribution. Rather than being a distraction, he wants to become a stabilizing influence and sounding board within the family on a very private basis.”

The former royal’s friend notes Prince Andrew is “more thoughtful and more mindful than he has ever been,” a remarkable observation for the man described as “an idiot” and “bully” by former staffers.

Prince Andrew has begun heeding his family’s advice after the “Newsnight” interview, the friend said, especially about laying low.

Though he’s reclused himself into “his own form of lockdown,” Prince Andrew is still living the royal highlife, the report claims.

He still has full access to a private chef, full staff and family money because Queen Elizabeth “remained convinced of Andrew’s innocence to the very end so she would have looked after him,” one source said.

“Keeping them financially secure actually protects the institution — it means they don’t need to go looking for funding elsewhere which has landed them in trouble in the past.”

The Telegraph claims Prince Andrew has been given a proposal that would provide him an opportunity to “live out the rest of his years doing something that would give him personal fulfillment, as well as being impactful and resonant,” though the outlet did not disclose what that would be or whether it would be connected to the royal family.
