Ashley Tisdale discovers ‘best friend’ Austin Butler is her cousin

Ashley Tisdale is keeping it in the family.

The “High School Musical” alum discovered that Austin Butler — whom she has been friends with for the last decade — is actually her cousin after taking a DNA test.

Appearing on the latest episode of Ancestry’s “2 Lies & A Leaf” series, Tisdale found out that she and Butler were 10th cousins once removed.

“Austin and I always say that we’re like fraternal twins born very far apart ’cause he’s much younger and we’ve always had that connection,” she told her sister, Jennifer Tisdale, who had joined her for the episode.

“We’ve always said we were brother and sister! That is insane, I’m literally going to cry.”

Ashley, 37, then described Butler, 31, as her “best best friend.”

“I’m telling you when we first met, I was like ‘Oh my God.’ We were like brother and sister from the minute we met.”

After finding out, Ashley immediately texted the “Elvis” actor to let him know the good news.

“No f–king way,” he told her in response.

Butler and Ashley originally met when they appeared in the 2011 movie “Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure,” where they played love interests.

Butler went on to date Ashley’s close friend Vanessa Hudgens that same year. They broke up after almost nine years together.

The mother of one — who welcomed her daughter Jupiter Irish French in March 2021 — and Butler have such a close bond that she laments he never got to see her pregnant.

“He didn’t get to see me pregnant in person because it’s been two 1/2 years since he’s been home but this guy FaceTimed me throughout and it felt like he was there,” she captioned a photo of Butler holding baby Jupiter.

“He even FaceTimed Jupiter in the hospital the morning after I had her. He’s one of my best friends and to see him with Juju is so special ❤️.”
