Grizzlies’ Ja Morant ‘week-to-week’ with left ankle sprain

The Memphis Grizzlies will be without their marquee guard for at least the next few contests.
The team announced on Saturday that Ja Morant has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 left ankle sprain and is “week-to-week.”
Morant suffered the injury during Friday’s 121-110 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder after he got his foot tangled with the Thunder’s Lu Dort. The Murray State product had to be helped off the court after the incident and did not return.

The 10-6 Grizzlies certainly will miss Morant, who has averaged 28.6 points, 7.1 assists, and 6.2 rebounds this season. Additionally, Memphis is dealing with another key injury. Guard Desmond Bane is still nursing a toe sprain.
