People say my husband is out of my league and must be gay

A plus-sized woman said her husband loves her curves, but cruel strangers accuse her of being in a sham marriage with a man who is “out of her league.”

Gina Miyares, 28, and her husband Josh Miyares, 24, from Boston, Massachusetts, often have to deal with people calling Josh “gay” or claiming their marriage is “fake,” SWNS reported.

The loved-up couple has been married since August 2019 and has been trying for a baby. Ever since posting about their relationship and fertility struggles on social media, they’ve been inundated with rude comments.

“I’ve had people say: ‘Oh wow, I’m surprised you two are together as Josh is so active and fit,’” Gina said. “People don’t understand how you can love someone plus-sized.”

“They even say I look like a man, which is ridiculous, or they think Josh is secretly gay and pretending to like me,” Gina admitted.

Gina had a few words for the haters who think her relationship is “fake.” “They don’t know what it’s like to feel unconditional love,” the school resident director said.

Josh and Gina met as coworkers in the summer of 2017 and started off as friends before they started dating in May 2018.

In October 2018, after five months of dating, Josh proposed to Gina.

Josh is livid with people who say mean things about his wife and he said he “wants to yell at social media sometimes.”

“It hurts to see people saying these things about my gorgeous wife,” he explained. “Sometimes, it does get to me when people are comparing down Gina’s appearance.

While the educational programmer and his wife “laugh” about the negativity, they are aware that “people can be mean.”

“What is hurtful is the assumptions made,” Gina said. “Josh and I are just spending time together and in love. We’re secure in ourselves.”
