Savannah Chrisley won’t marry, have kids with parents in prison

Savannah Chrisley feels pressure to put her life on pause once her parents begin their prison sentences.

The “Chrisley Knows Best” alum opened up about her concerns on her “Unlocked” podcast Tuesday, telling her soon-to-be sister-in-law, Emmy Medders, that she “can’t move on” without Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley around.

“In my mind, I’m like, ‘I can’t move on with my life,’” Savannah, 25, explained. “Until I know that they’re going to be there, I can’t get married. I can’t have a kid.”

Todd, 53, and Julie, 49, were sentenced in November to a total of 19 years behind bars after being found guilty of bank fraud and tax evasion.

Savannah explained to Medders that she feels like she is “grieving the loss of parents that are still alive.”

In response, Medders, who is engaged to Chase Chrisley, encouraged Savannah not to put her life on hold for her parents.

“You can’t just stop your life,” the personal assistant said. “And your parents, our parents, wouldn’t want us to do that, no matter what happens.”

Savannah shared that her father encouraged her to keep moving on, especially since they will be together no matter what — even if from a distance.

“Dad was like, ‘I may not be here in front of you, but I’m still alive. I’m still fighting. You don’t have to live a day without speaking to me,’” she recalled.

Last week, Chase opened up about the difficulty of knowing his parents were going away, telling Savannah that it felt like they were “going through hell.”

“It is a terrible, terrible situation but I have to try to find the good even in the darkest times,” he said on his sister’s podcast.

“I feel like throughout everything that we have been going through has made me appreciate things that I did not appreciate as much in the past.”
