Zach Wilson’s mom Lisa gushes over his girlfriend amid Jets drama

New York may not have brought football glory to Zach Wilson, but his mom is grateful for one part of his tenure.
Lisa Wilson spent the holiday weekend with the struggling Jets quarterback and his siblings, along with his rumored girlfriend Nicolette Dellano and her family, in New Jersey, according to photos she shared to her Instagram story.
“So happy NY brought @nicolette_dellanno and her beautiful family into our lives,” Lisa wrote over a group photo that showed her, Wilson, Nicolette and more people at Pazzo Italian restaurant in Red Bank, New Jersey. Lisa also tagged Nicolette’s mother, Kathy Dellano, who was pictured in the photo.
In a separate post, Lisa wrote “My World” over a selfie of the group, which was taken at the Short Hills mall in Millburn, New Jersey.

Wilson and Dellanno, a New Jersey native, were first linked in June, when they attended a Yankees game together and were photographed in The Bronx. They have yet to confirm the status of their relationship.
Meanwhile, Lisa has dealt with social media trolls amid her son’s struggles. She took to her Instagram Story recently to share screengrabs of a direct message exchange with a man who told her to “stay strong” following Wilson’s second demotion of the season.
The man then apologized for previously sending her a “rude comment,” to which she accepted his apology and wished him well.
“There is hope for humanity,” Lisa wrote over the screen-grab. “This stuff fills my heart.”
In July, Lisa took to Instagram to defend her friends amid accusations that her son was involved with one of her pals following his split from his ex-girlfriend Abbey Gile.

Lisa, who is an Utah native, visited Wilson in New Jersey as the quarterback’s days with the Jets are reportedly numbered.
Wilson was inactive for three games with the Jets before being made the backup again then abruptly pushed back to the starter’s spot with Mike White sitting out with rib injuries. Two ugly starts later, Wilson is back to the inactive list with White starting on Sunday against the Seahawks.
Wilson, the former No. 2 overall pick, received boos from the home crowd at MetLife Stadium against the Jaguars on Thursday and was replaced by Chris Streveler as the Jets trailed the Jaguars, 16-3, late in the third quarter. Wilson completed 9 of 18 passes for 92 yards and one interception.
After the game, head coach Robert Saleh said “we haven’t seen the last of [Wilson],” despite his Thursday night benching.
On Monday, Saleh said White will be the starter for the remainder of the season.
Though, Saleh did add that Wilson is part of the Jets’ future plans, and that he hopes to continue developing the second-year BYU product.
