Cops check on Kevin Nash after worrying podcast comments

Kevin Nash received a checkup call from police after worrying comments about self-harm in the wake of his son’s death.

Nash’s 26-year-old son Tristen died following complications from seizures, sustained shortly after quitting alcohol cold turkey, in October. Saying that it’s been 12 weeks since the tragedy, Nash made potential allusions to suicide on his podcast, “Kliq This.”

TMZ reports that the Volusia County (Fla.) sheriff’s office contacted the WWE legend following the remarks, and that Nash told them he had “no intention to act” on his comments.

“Everyone take a breath,” Nash tweeted on Thursday. “Let’s not take my biggest coping mechanism SARCASM and blow it out of proportion. I appreciate the concern and the fact that others find it a perfect time for insults. Continue to get you updates on @TMZ and wrestling sites. I’ve got legs to train today.”

The comments that caused fans to be concerned for Nash’s wellbeing happened earlier this week.

“Today is week 12 that I lost my boy,” he said. “Time flies when you got a gun in your mouth — I mean, time flies when you’re having fun.”

After being told by co-host Sean Oliver not to “play like that” and to not joke about things like that because he has guns in his home, Nash responded, “I can do whatever the f–k I wanna do. Long as I leave a note.”

Nash is a two-time inductee of the WWE Hall of Fame — once as an individual, and once as a founding member of the fabled WCW New World Order stable — and is a former six-time world champion.
