Giants clinch first playoff berth since 2016 with win over Colts

Half a decade of miserable football is now behind the Giants.

They are back in the postseason.

The Giants clinched a spot in the NFL playoffs on Sunday with a 38-10 win over the Colts at MetLife Stadium. This marks the first time the Giants have made the playoffs since 2016, which is also the last time the team had a winning record. The Giants secured a winning season by improving to 9-6-1.

First-year head coach Brian Daboll led the Giants to a huge turnaround campaign after the team went 4-13 last season and 22-59 over the last five seasons. They got out to a fast 6-1 start before an 0-3-1 stretch started to put their playoff chances into question.

But the Giants rebounded with an important win at Washington in Week 15 and played valiantly against the Vikings last week before Sunday’s clincher.
