‘Outer Banks’ Season 3 Gets a February Premiere Date on Netflix

After months of waiting, we finally have a premiere date for Outer Banks Season 3. All 10 episodes in the latest installment are set to premiere on Netflix Thursday, February 23. But wait, there’s more. The streaming giant has also released some first-look images to get fans excited. And thank goodness, because we needed John B back in our lives.
Based on how last season ended, Season 3 seems like it’s going to be a nail-biter. Pope (Jonathan Daviss) learned that the Cross of Santo Domingo was actually part of his family’s legacy. Unfortunately for him and his Pogue pals, Sarah’s (Madelyn Cline) nefarious father Ward (Charles Esten) wanted it for himself. This standoff resulted in a fight aboard a container ship because no one does sea-bound conflict like Outer Banks. But in the end, the Pogues lost this round. John B (Chase Stokes), Sarah, Pope, Kie (Madison Bailey), JJ (Rudy Pankow), and newcomer Cleo (Carlacia Grant) all had to abandon ship. They wound up stranded on a deserted island, which they naturally named “Poguelandia.”
But that’s not the only cliffhanger of Season 2’s finale. You know John B’s dead dad? Basically the whole reason John B and his friends have been evading authorities, feuding with powerful people, stealing treasure, and generally causing havoc this whole time? Well, it turns out that Big John (Charles Halford) is actually alive, and he’s working with one of the Pogue’s rivals, Limbrey (Elizabeth Mitchell). Prepare for emotional messiness.
Based on these first-look images, it doesn’t look like Season 3 is skimping on that Poguelandia subplot. Just look at these island shenanigans:
But that’s not the only clue these photos are hiding. Based on the flirty body language, prepare for some new love triangles this season. How is Pope going to handle Kie’s budding romance with JJ? And speaking of Pope, what’s going on with him and Cleo?
Kie is even getting a glamorous episode. Just look at that stunning dress. Here’s hoping this brush with elegance doesn’t turn this Pogue into a Kook:
“The stakes are ramping up. The Pogues realize that their adventures in the first two seasons were merely the prelude to the granddaddy of all treasure hunts,” series creators and executive producers Jonas Pate, Josh Pate and Shannon Burke told TUDUM.
It all starts this February. If you needed an excuse to rewatch the first two seasons of Outer Banks, there you go. Now excuse us; we have buried treasure to find.
