What Time Will ‘Violent Night’ be on Peacock? How To Watch David Harbour’s Christmas Action Movie Online

Christmas may be over, but it’s never too late to watch Violent Night, the Santa-themed action comedy that’s coming to streaming this weekend.

Directed by Tommy Wirkola, with a screenplay by Pat Casey and Josh Miller, Violent Night stars David Harbour as Santa Claus. But this is not the kind of Santa Claus you’ve seen before. This is a Santa who drinks, who murders in cold blood, and eviscerates people with his magical chimney powers. It’s a good thing he does, too, because it’s up to Santa to save a family that has been held hostage by John Leguizamo and his team of Christmas-hating mercenaries.

Obviously, based on that plot summary, you might have guessed that Violent Night is ridiculous, silly, action-packed, and gory fun. If you didn’t get a chance to watch the movie in theaters in December, then you’ll soon get another chance, because Violent Night is headed to Peacock. Read on to find out how to watch Violent Night on streaming.

You can stream Violent Night on Peacock Premium beginning on Friday, January 20.

If you aren’t a Peacock Premium subscriber, you can also buy or rent Violent Night on digital platforms like Amazon Prime, Microsoft, Vudu, Apple TV, and more. The price may vary depending on which platform you use to purchase the film, but on Amazon, Violent Night costs $19.99 to rent and $24.99 to buy.

Violent Night will begin streaming on Peacock Premium tomorrow, aka Friday, January 20.

You can sign up for Peacock Premium to watch Violent with ads for $4.99 a month, or you can sign up for Peacock Premium Plus to watch Violent Night without ads for $9.99 a month. Both tiers will give you access to the movie. However, you will not be able to watch Violent Night on the free version of Peacock.

While there used to be a 7-day free trial for Peacock Premium, unfortunately, the streamer has ended its free trial service. So you’ll either need to cough up the cash or get a login from a friend.

Based on previous Universal theatrical movie releases on Peacock, Violent Night should be available to stream on Peacock Premium at 12 a.m. ET on January 20, or 9 p.m. PT on January 19. That means if you’re on the west coast, you’ll be able to watch Halloween Ends as early as Thursday night on January 19. That said, if you don’t see the movie right away after refreshing the page, try again on Friday, January 20.

No. Violent Night is not streaming on Netflix, and likely will not be on Netflix anytime soon, given that it is currently streaming on Peacock.

That said, Violent Night may eventually go to Netflix, albeit not for another 4 years. A deal between Universal and Netflix gives the streaming service access to live-action films from Universal Filmed Entertainment Group about four years after they open in theaters. In the case of The Fabelmans, that means December 2026. That’s a long time to wait, so if you want to see the movie ASAP, your best bet is to rent the movie on digital or watch it on Peacock.
